The walk home from my bus stop is always a lonely one, but I've found simple pleasures lining the cement walkways. Usually, I walk home as quickly as I can so I can greet my two wonderful dogs and spend quality time with them. However, sometimes I'll stop and stare if I see a caterpillar or a large bunch of berries fallen from the trees. Other times I'll see a beautiful flower and can't help but pick it.
One day as I walked home on a freezing, windy day, I spotted a dandelion. I adore dandelions so I was determined to bring it home with me, no matter how silly I looked as a young woman carrying a bunch of bags and holding the dandelion between my fingers.
What surprised me was that though it was extremely windy, none of the seeds had fallen off yet. I even huffed and puffed at it myself just to see if I could loosen a few, but I only exhausted myself as the dandelion simply took whatever bursts of air came at it.
I realized that there are times when we too should be stubborn like that dandelion, clinging onto our seeds with all our might no matter what life throws at us.
