The power of positive thinking is about establishing intentions on how you would like your life to be and then believing that you have a direct influence on the way things will happen.
The benefits of positive thinking is that you convert intention into reality by using the one instrument over which you have total control - your mind!
Often times people confuse positive thinking with being pollyannaerish (is that a word?!
).
That is way off the mark ... thinking positively means you look at reality, acknowledge it but then - and this is the real power of positive thinking - your turn your undivided attention to where you are heading and consistently feel good about where you are going.
Unfortunately many people keep their thinking focused toward what is or what has been (like looking in the rear view mirror of the car) instead of training their mind to focus through the front windscreen toward where they are going.
Negative thinking can have damaging effects to your career development. If you give focus to all the things that could limit your career growth, then the principle of law of attraction suggests you are setting yourself up for trouble. For example, you might be apprehensive about your worth and talk yourself out of asking for a raise that you deserve; or you second-guess decisions you are making - scared that if something goes wrong you will be 'chastised' so you take the safe decision rather than taking the route you feel is right but is riskier and consequently you aren't seen as a mover and shaker in the business.
In the steps of positive thinking, it is all about visualizing and making the right preparation. For example, visualize yourself
It is about preparing yourself to perform at your best form ... getting your mental attitude in proper perspective and moving toward what you want - rather than focusing on what you don't want. Do this well and you will find life flows better and you feel frisky, alive, engaged and overflowing with confidence.
The effects of positive thinking also have a bearing when you interact with people you are in some kind of relationship - be it business, dating or marriage. Thinking negatively will run counter to your desire to have quality time and experiences with those people you care about and want the best for. Negative thinking creates self-doubt and insecurity which leads to diminished self worth .. and this leads to fractured relationships - because people who don't feel good try to bring those around them down to their level - so they can feel better.
Think about the people you know - who do you know who is generally a positive person? How do you feel after you have spent some time with them?
Contrast that with a person who is more a doomer and gloomer - how do you feel after you have spent time with them?
